Slipping & Tripping Claims

As long-established Solicitors in York we have for many decades been advising and representing clients, mainly in York and North Yorkshire, in connection with claims for injuries they have suffered from either tripping or slipping on dangerous surfaces.

Apart from the pain, suffering and inconvenience such injures cause, they can cause you and your family real financial hardship.
Often these falls are on dangerous footpaths, but they can also be on private land or in buildings.
Not every fall on an uneven or slippery surface gives grounds for a successful claim.
If you have tripped or slipped on a pavement, for example, the law recognises that it is impractical for Councils to keep all paths free from any unevenness – therefore, a balance has to be kept between the risk of accidents and the cost to the public purse of maintaining public highways.
The law expects a reasonable system of inspection and maintenance and for that system to be properly implemented.
Private landowners are expected to keep their property reasonably safe.
We can advise you on whether you have a reasonable claim and, if so, represent you on a Conditional Fee (‘No Win, No Fee’) basis.
We do not accept referrals from Claims Management companies you see advertise on TV. We aim to have the same Solicitor deal with your case from start to finish, and to make telephone contacts and personal appointments as easy as possible. Our Solicitors try to provide all of our clients with a personal service.
