Employment Disputes

We are experienced in acting on behalf of both employers and employees to resolve disputes arising either during a person’s employment or following dismissal.

Our Solicitors are happy to advise clients in the York and North Yorkshire areas and further afield where grievances or disciplinary issues have arisen.

For Employers

If redundancies are likely, we can advise you on the appropriate procedures and also assist in the drafting of any compromise agreements.

If disciplinary action is being taken we can provide you with practical advice as to the correct approach to adopt to minimise the risk of a successful unfair dismissal claim being brought by an employee.

If proceedings are brought, we are experienced in providing you with advice and representation, whether in the Employment Tribunal or the County Court.

We are firm believers in trying to prevent problems arising, by helping you to ensure that the correct procedures are in place and implemented. Ultimately this is likely to both save you legal costs and wasted management time.

For Employees

If you are an employee threatened with redundancy we are able to advise you on whether the correct procedures are being followed and what options may be available to you.

We are also experienced in advising you on any compromise agreement you may be offered by your employer. The legal costs of this are generally met by your employer and our costs are generally within the limits an employer will reimburse.

We can also advise you on how best to deal with any disciplinary proceedings you may face. If proceedings are brought we are experienced in providing advice and representation in those proceedings.

If you have a grievance at work, we can provide you with practical advice as to how best to try to resolve it.

Our approach

As with all of our services, we aim to provide you with practical, cost-effective advice and to be friendly and approachable.

We are happy to provide free basic initial telephone advice, during which we will also deal with the likely costs of further work and how these costs may be funded. We will consider offering contingency fee funding in appropriate Tribunal cases.

To take advantage of this initial advice, please call either Steven Partridge or Harry Bayman, e-mail us or complete a contact form.
